Children’s Contact Service
The Children’s Contact Service gives children a safe and neutral place to spend time with their parents after separation.
We help separated families with changeover between parents, supervised visits, and rebuilding relationships between parents and children.
Children are welcome to visit the centre beforehand to get familiar with the space, helping them feel comfortable and at ease. We also work with both parents to plan and prepare for visits, so everyone is clear about what to expect. The centre is welcoming and secure, with toys, games, and activities designed to create a positive experience for your child.
5 steps to accessing the Children’s Contact Service
- Get in touch – One parent calls the service and completes a short phone intake.
- Agreement from both parents – We contact the other parent to get their agreement to use the service. If both parents agree, we move to the next step.
- Intake interview – We meet with each parent to check that the service is suitable and to complete the service agreement.
- Child orientation – Your child can visit the centre to get familiar with the space and activities, helping them feel comfortable and confident.
- Visits start – Once both parents have agreed and the child has completed orientation, visits or changeovers begin.
We do not want cost to be a barrier to accessing support. If you have any questions about fees, please speak with your practitioner before making a payment.
This program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services.
