Relationships Australia Tasmania (RA Tas) is a dynamic not for profit organisation with a leading reputation in the Tasmanian community for providing high quality services to Tasmanians right across the state, to support their relationships.

RA Tas is an independently structured, governed and Incorporated Association in its own right in Tasmania, and is part of a Federation of like organisations around the country.

The Board of RA Tas are highly experienced, qualified and committed members of the Tasmanian community who volunteer their time and insight to support this organisation and its mission. The current Board has an opportunity for two new members to potentially join and contribute to governing the organisation.

There is currently one Representative from each the North and North West regions of Tasmania (as guided by our Rules of Association), and each can be filled as a casual vacancy until the AGM in October 2018. There may be other vacancies in the future and this process may also be used inform those vacancies.

Board meetings are conducted at least six times per annum, with the possibility of some sub-committee work, and an Annual General Meeting.  A number of meetings are held in Hobart, there is usually one face to face meeting per year in the North or North West, and we have the option of using technology for meetings from time to time.

While the position is voluntary, we provide;

  • reimbursement of all reasonable costs actually incurred as a Director – Board Member
  • all appropriate insurances
  • the potential to be supported to attend the AICD program if it has not already been undertaken

Selection Criteria

We are seeking experienced Board Members or Directors who possess either of two specific skills gaps;

  • client or clinical work experience
  • marketing, branding and communications

Applicants outside of these skill areas should also consider applying.  Broad, general Director and governance skills would also be considered valuable.
